Yankees' Greg Bird (back) expects to play tomorrow
New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird said that he expects to be ready to play on Wednesday, per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.
Bird was scratched prior to Monday's game with discomfort in his lower back. He's already been ruled out for Tuesday, but an MRI showed that Bird has no structural damage and could be ready to go as early as tomorrow. If so, Chase Headley would likely go back to third base for the matchup.
In 20 plate appearances, Bird is projected for 4 hits, 2 RBI and 2 runs over the remainder of the 2017 season.
