Rangers' Mike Napoli did not play on Monday with lower body soreness
Texas Rangers first baseman Mike Napoli was held out of Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners due to lower body soreness, according to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant.
What was believed to be a routine off day for the 35-year-old could turn into a lengthy absence for Napoli. In his stead, Will Middlebrooks should get more starts as Joey Gallo plays first base for Texas. Call-up Willie Calhoun could be in for some time in left field for at the DH spot.
Having posted 29 homers and a .307 wOBA to date, when healthy, Napoli is projected for 3 home runs, 9 RBI and a .228 average the rest of the season.
