Heaney diagnosed with shoulder impingement
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Andrew Heaney's MRI for his left shoulder revealed "symptoms consistent with internal impingement," reports Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher.
The Angels say Heaney is day-to-day and questionable to make his next start on Friday against the Texas Rangers. It's possible they move him back to Saturday to allow for extra rest, but the 26-year-old left-hander's status is truly unknown at this point. Troy Scribner would be the most likely candidate to take Heaney's spot in the Angels' rotation.
After getting a late start to the year, Heaney has gone 1-2 (5 starts) with a 7.06 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, and 26.7 strikeout percentage across 21 2/3 innings.
