Mariners' Jarrod Dyson out for year with sports hernia surgery

Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarrod Dyson will have season-ending sports hernia surgery.

What It Means:

Dyson has missed 17 of the Mariners' last 19 games and this sports hernia surgery will end his season. Guillermo Heredia is starting in center again on Monday and hitting out of the eighth spot. He should continue regular centerfield duties over the last three weeks of the season.

Dyson will end his first year with Seattle with a .251/.324/.350 slash line, with 5 home runs, 30 RBI, 56 runs scored, and 28 stolen bases over 390 plate appearances.
