Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Logan Morrison is absent from Monday's starting lineup against the New York Yankees.
The left-handed slugger will take a seat versus Yankees southpaw CC Sabathia. Evan Longoria will play designated hitter for the Rays while Trevor Plouffe starts at the hot corner.
Morrison owns a .248/.355/.529 slash and .884 OPS with 36 home runs and 82 RBI in 134 games this season. numberFire's models project him to turn in a .261 batting average with 4 home runs, 11 RBI, and 11 runs scored in 81 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
