Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman (elbow) will start Friday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers.
Stroman will be able to avoid missing a turn in the Blue Jays' rotation despite suffering a right elbow contusion during his last start this past Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles. The 26-year-old right-hander has twirled a 3.08 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 19.9 strikeout percentage (K%) across 172 1/3 innings this season while going 11-6 in 28 starts.
numberFire's models project Stroman to record a 3.87 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 17.1 K% in 28 innings over the remainder of the year.
