Oakland Athletics second baseman Jed Lowrie is not starting on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels.
The Angels are sending southpaw Tyler Skaggs to the mound, so Lowrie will grab a seat on the bench. He's currently on a six-game hitting streak and is batting .275 overall with a .797 OPS in 131 games this season. Franklin Barreto will start at second base and bat eighth for Oakland.
numberFire's models project Lowrie to record a .278 batting average with 2 home runs, 10 RBI, and 10 runs scored in 91 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
