Cardinals' Kolten Wong (back) headed back to St. Louis for evaluation
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong is no longer with the team and is en route to St. Louis for further testing, reports MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch.
Tonight's game will mark two straight that Wong has missed due to this back ailment. The fact that he was forced to leave the team is much more alarming, though. Breyvic Valera will start at second on Tuesday as he and Greg Garcia stand poised to replace Wong at second in the coming days or weeks.
Hitting .300/.383/.438 with 4 home runs and 40 RBI in 94 games, we project Wong for 1 home run, 5 RBI and a .283 average the rest of the year, if healthy.
