Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak is out of the lineup for Tuesday's road clash with the Boston Red Sox.
It's a routine day off for Smoak, and Steve Pearce will move to cover first base while Teoscar Hernandez enters the starting lineup in left field.
Smoak is slashing .283/.362/.565 with a .387 wOBA through 135 games in 2017, and his 37 home runs and 85 RBI are already career-highs. numberFire's models project him to bat .263 while adding another 5 home runs and 14 RBI in 94 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
