Pirates place Josh Harrison (hand) on disabled list
The Pittsburgh Pirates placed second/third baseman Josh Harrison on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured fifth metacarpal on his left hand.
Harrison was hit by a pitch on Saturday night, which caused the injury. The team has yet to release a timetable for his return, but with just over three weeks of the regular season remaining, this will likely end Harrison's season. Max Moroff is starting at second base on Sunday, and with Adam Frazier set to be activated from the DL soon, those two should platoon at second base for the remainder of the year.
If Harrison's season is truly over, he will finish with a .272/.339/.432 slash line, with a .332 wOBA, 16 home runs, 66 RBI, and 47 runs scored over 542 plate appearances.
