Jeff Samardzija to start Saturday for San Francisco
San Francisco Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija will start Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, according to NBC Sports' Amy Gutierrez.
With Chris Stratton scratched for an undisclosed reason, Samardzija will be asked to take the ball early for Saturday's home meeting with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Samardzija has been on fire of late. In August, the 32-year-old right-hander posted a 4-1 record, 3.32 FIP and 42.9% groundball rate through 6 starts. He's projected for 26.9 FanDuel points in today's matchup.
