Cardinals' Jack Flaherty to make MLB debut on Friday
The St. Louis Cardinals purchased the contract of pitcher Jack Flaherty, who will make his first major league start Friday versus the San Francisco Giants.
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said that Flaherty would not be restricted on Friday but that there could be a minutes cap down the stretch. With Mike Leake shipped to the Seattle Mariners recently, the 21-year-old is in line to get multiple starts and could be a valuable late addition to season-long fantasy rotations.
After going 7-2 with a 2.30 FIP in 10 starts at Double-A, Flaherty again went 7-2 with a 4.09 FIP in 15 starts at Triple-A. In tonight's matchup, our models project him for 22.9 FanDuel points at $5,800 in his first ever start.
