Michael Cuddyer

Michael Cuddyer (wrist) expected to return to Mets Friday

New York Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer (wrist) is expected to return to the Mets' starting lineup Friday against the Atlanta Braves.

What It Means:

Cuddyer hasn't played since September 2nd, though he was able to hit off of a tee Tuesday.

The Mets don't need to rush Cuddyer given the return of Lucas Duda and the play of Michael Conforto. While dealing with injuries, Cuddyer has posted a .262/.316/.401 slash in his first season in New York. He does still hold a 32.1 percent hard-hit rate, but a jump in his strikeout rate to 21.9 percent from 14.6 percent last year has hampered his offensive value.
