Dodgers' Alex Wood (shoulder) to make return on Sunday
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood will pitch Sunday's road game against the San Diego Padres, according to the Los Angeles Times' Andy McCullough.
Wood has been out since August 22nd with inflammation in his left shoulder. He joins Clayton Kershaw, who will return to the rotation two games earlier, for Friday's series opener in San Diego.
To this point, Wood has gone 14-1 with a 2.95 FIP and 9.27 strikeouts per 9 across 20 starts this season. Our models project him for 1 more win and 13 strikeouts across 14-plus innings the rest of the way.
