Indians' Ryan Merritt to start second half of Wednesday's doubleheader
Cleveland Indians pitcher Ryan Merritt will start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the New York Yankees.
The Indians' matchup with the Yankees on Tuesday was postponed due to rain, but MLB.com's Jordan Bastian is reporting a change to the Indians' rotation for tomorrow's doubleheader. Instead of the scheduled starter, Josh Tomlin, Ryan Merritt will start the second half of the two-game set as Trevor Bauer pitches Game 1. Tomlin could start Friday or Sunday's game in Detroit.
In 4 appearances -- including 3 starts -- at the major league level, Merritt has gone 1-0 with a 2.74 FIP and a 52.5% groundball rate in 2017.
