What It Means:

Syndergaard is still working his way back from a partial tear of his right lat muscle. Things are looking up, though, as he did some long-tossing on Monday and threw batting practice on Saturday. Though it's true that the lowly Mets won't force him back, Syndergaard is close to a rehab assignment and could be back before the end of the season.
