The Toronto Blue Jays designated outfielder Nori Aoki for assignment.
Aoki started just seven games for the Blue Jays since being acquired from the Houston Astros on July 31 at the trade deadline. He went 9-for-32 (.281) with 3 home runs in that span, including 3-for-4 with a dinger and 2 RBI on Sunday afternoon. Reliever Leonel Campos was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.
In 83 games (258 plate appearances) this season, Aoki recorded a .274/.319/.402 slash and .721 OPS while tallying 5 home runs, 27 RBI, 32 runs scored, and 5 steals.
