Kansas City Royals catcher Drew Butera is not starting on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Butera went 0-for-3 with 2 strikeouts on Sunday, bringing his overall slash to .257/.308/.360 for the season. Salvador Perez will catch right-hander Ian Kennedy and bat fifth versus Rays righty Austin Pruitt.
numberFire's models project Butera to record a .256 batting average in 43 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
