Billy Hamilton not in Reds' lineup Tuesday
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton is not in the lineup Tuesday after being activated from the disabled list earlier in the day.
Instead, Jason Bourgeois will bat leadoff and play center field with Jay Bruce and Adam Duvall filling the other spots in the outfield.
Hamilton had only played three games in his rehab stint before coming back to the majors, so it's completely possible that he is simply not ready yet. With the Reds being well out of contention, it's important to develop players for next year, and Hamilton needs that developing. Prior to hitting the disabled list, Hamilton had a .226/.272/.290 slash. He does still have 54 steals, but it's hard to imagine what he could produce if he could push his on-base percentage above .300.
