Tyler Flowers out of Braves' lineup versus Mariners

Atlanta Braves catcher Tyler Flowers is not starting on Monday against the Seattle Mariners.

What It Means:

This will be Flower's second absence from the starting lineup in the last three contests, and it comes just one day after he hit a grand slam, giving him his 11th home run of the season. The 31-year-old catcher owns a career-best .292/.384/.468 slash across 310 plate appearances (83 games) in 2017. Kurt Suzuki will catch right-hander Mike Foltynewicz and bat sixth versus Mariners southpaw Andrew Albers in Monday's series opener.

numberFire's models project Flowers to record a .273 batting average with 3 home runs, 12 RBI, and 10 runs scored in 98 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
