Texas Rangers infielder/outfielder Joey Gallo suffered a non-displaced nasal fracture during an eighth-inning collision with teammate Matt Bush on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox.
Gallo was also hit in the head, so he'll have to pass through concussion protocol before being cleared for game action, meaning the 23-year-old is likely to miss a contest or two. A disabled list stint remains a possibility, but more will be known following a re-examination on Monday. Phil Gosselin replaced Gallo at third base on Sunday.
Gallo is batting just .205 (71-for-346) this season, but he makes up for it with a .561 slugging percentage while turning in 35 home runs, 65 RBI, and 68 runs scored over 113 games this season.
