Nationals place Max Scherzer on the 10-day disabled list
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 15 with left neck inflammation.
Scherzer was scratched from his start on Friday with neck pain, but it's on the opposite side from the pain that forced him to pull himself from a start on August 1. The team has yet to announce a corresponding move.
Scherzer owns a 2.25 ERA and 3.06 xFIP over 160.1 innings pitched this season.
