New York Yankees first baseman/outfielder Tyler Austin is absent from Friday's lineup against the Boston Red Sox.
Austin went 2-for-4 with a run and a strikeout on Thursday in what was his first game since late June and the fifth this season overall. Chase Headley will start at first base and bat sixth versus Red Sox southpaw Drew Pomeranz.
numberFire's models project Austin to turn in a .250 batting average in only 14 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
