Joey Rickard optioned to Triple-A Norfolk
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Joey Rickard has been sent down to Triple-A Norfolk.
What It Means:
Rickard's demotion makes room for Rule 5 pick Anthony Santander, who was activated from the 60-day disabled list after missing the majority of the season due to a strained forearm. He should be back on the big league roster before too long.
Over 94 games this season, Rickard turned in a .254/.290/.366 slash with 4 home runs, 18 RBI, 28 runs scored, and 7 steals in 247 plate appearances (94 games).
