Miami Marlins infielder Mike Aviles is not starting on Friday against the New York Mets.
Aviles will grab a seat on the bench after starting three of the past four contests for Miami. He's 9-for-38 (.237) in limited work this season. Miguel Rojas will start at shortstop and bat eighth versus Mets right-hander Chris Flexen.
numberFire's models project Aviles to turn in a .235 batting average in only 19 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
