Twins place Robbie Grossman (thumb) on DL
Minnesota Twins outfielder Robbie Grossman has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured left thumb.
In last night's game, Grossman collided with Byron Buxton and was then removed from the game with an apparent injury. While he's sidelined for at least three weeks, the Twins have called up Mitch Garver and are expected to deploy Eduardo Escobar much more in the coming days.
With his timetable, Grossman will be lucky to see three weeks of play before the regular season ends. If the Twins work their way into a wild card spot, though, Grossman's bat (7 home runs and 35 RBI) would be crucial to Minnesota's depth.
