Rene Rivera not in Mets' lineup on Thursday
New York Mets catcher Rene Rivera is not starting on Thursday against the New York Yankees.
Rivera went 1-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday, but he will head to the bench for tonight's series finale against right-hander Luis Severino and the Yankees. Travis d'Arnaud will start behind the plate after filling in for Wilmer Flores (rib cage) at third base in yesterday's contest.
numberFire's models project Rivera to record a .224 batting average with another couple of dingers in 63 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
