Los Angeles Angels catcher Martin Maldonado is not starting on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals.
Maldonado will get a breather after starting the past five games behind the plate for the Angels, a span in which he went 5-for-17 (.294) with a couple of doubles. Juan Graterol will be on squatting duties in Wednesday's series finale.
numberFire's models project Maldonado to record a .220 batting average with 4 home runs, 14 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 128 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
