Chad Bettis blanks Braves in return to Rockies' mound
Colorado Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis shutout the Atlanta Braves for seven innings in a 3-0 victory on Monday in his return from testicular cancer.
Bettis was deprived of the win due to the Rockies failing to put a run on the board until the eighth inning, but it was still a triumphant return for the 28-year-old right-hander. He yielded 6 hits while striking out 2 and forcing 12 outs on the ground. Next up is a home date with the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, but his long-term fantasy appeal remains limited.
numberFire's models project Bettis to turn in a 5.53 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and 13.7 strikeout percentage over the remainder of the season.
