Cubs' Addison Russell (foot) feeling better but without timetable
Chicago Cubs shortstop/second baseman Addison Russell has shown improvement but is absent a timetable for his return, according to the Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales.
After suffering a right foot sprain nearly two weeks ago, Russell has been doing much better in his workouts. He had expected to return when eligible this past Saturday, but that hasn't happened and there hasn't been a reported target date quite yet. While he's out, Javier Baez will get the majority of starts at shortstop.
numberFire's models project Russell for 4 home runs, 7 doubles and 17 RBI over 135 plate appearances the rest of the season.
