Jake Junis recalled by Royals, will start on Monday
Kansas City Royals pitcher Jake Junis has been recalled from Triple-A and will start on Monday versus the Oakland A's.
Junis has dominated Triple-A this season, posting a 2.92 ERA with 86 strikeouts in 71 innings this season. However, when called up to the bigs, he has struggled to the tune of a 5.55 FIP and 1.39 WHIP in 10 games (7 starts). He is making a spot start in place of Trevor Cahill on Monday.
Our models project the 24-year-old for 5 1/3 innings pitched, 2.8 runs allowed, and 3.6 strikeouts for 22.5 FanDuel points while costing just $6,500 versus Oakland.
