Miguel Cabrera (back) still out on Monday for Tigers
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (back) remains out on Monday against the Texas Rangers.
Cabrera was only expected to miss one game due to a lower back issue, but this will make it two straight after his back stiffened up again on Monday morning. He remains day-to-day. John Hicks will draw another start at first base and bat fifth in tonight's series opener against left-hander Martin Perez and the Rangers.
Assuming he doesn't require an extended absence, numberFire's models project Cabrera to record a .281 batting average with 6 home runs, 21 RBI, and 19 runs scored in 155 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
