Luke Maile making big league debut for Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay Rays catcher Luke Maile is starting the first game of his big league career behind the plate on Saturday against the New York Yankees.
What It Means:
An eighth-round pick in 2012, Maile is an uninspiring offensive option after slashing a mere .207/.298/.296 over 89 games at Triple-A Durham prior to his recall. He did post a .336 wOBA in 2014 in a full season in Double-A.
