Austin Jackson out for Indians on Monday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Austin Jackson is not starting on Monday against the Boston Red Sox.
Abraham Almonte will draw the start in left field while Jackson heads to the bench for the second time in three games. The acquisition of Jay Bruce from the New York Mets will cost Jackson playing time moving forward, but with a .327 batting average and .856 OPS so far in the second half, he's making it difficult to keep him out of the starting lineup.
numberFire's models expect Jackson's bat to cool off moving forward, as we project him to record a .274 batting average in 83 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
