Dominic Smith making his MLB debut as the Mets face the Phillies
New York Mets first baseman Dominic Smith is making his MLB debut Friday night.
Smith will be at first base and bat sixth as the Mets play Game 2 of their four-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies. New York has shuffled around their infield, sending Jose Reyes to the bench to make room for the 22-year-old slugger.
The Mets have an implied run total of 4.78 versus Nick Pivetta and the Phillies. Pivetta's groundball to flyball rate of 0.654 favors the Mets' hitters, making them an intriguing option on Friday night.
