Dustin Pedroia out as Red Sox battle Rays
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is not starting on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Pedroia went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored while starting at designated hitter in his return from the disabled list on Tuesday. He will grab a seat on the bench Wednesday while Brock Holt gets the nod at second base and Hanley Ramirez (oblique) makes his return to the starting lineup as Boston's DH.
numberFire's models project Pedroia to turn in a .304 batting average with 2 home runs, 17 RBI, 22 runs scored, and 2 steals in 177 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
