Alex Avila starting on Wednesday for Cubs
Chicago Cubs catcher/first baseman Alex Avila is starting on Wednesday versus the San Francisco Giants.
Avila notched his first home run in a Cubs uniform on Saturday in his last start. He will step behind the plate to catch right-hander Kyle Hendricks on Wednesday while batting eighth versus Giants southpaw Madison Bumgarner. Willson Contreras will be at first base and hit cleanup for the defending champs while Anthony Rizzo grabs a seat on the bench.
The Cubs have the lowest implied total (3.72 runs) in a pitcher-friendly matchup (7.5 over/under, 0.930 park factor) on a full 15-game slate, so their lineup isn't the most appealing fantasy target. numberFire's models project Avila to score 8.2 FanDuel points at a cost of $2,400 on Wednesday.
