Yunel Escobar (ribs) is out of the Angels' lineup Monday
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar (ribs) is out of the lineup on Monday.
Escobar is dealing with an intercostal strain and is scheduled to take an MRI on Monday to find out the extent of the injury. The team believes the injury is not serious and is considering Escobar day-to-day. Luis Valbuena is starting at third base in his place.
Escobar has 7 home runs and a .319 wOBA so far this season and is projected for a .290 batting average and 2 homers in 179 plate appearances the rest of the 2017 campaign.
