Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday night versus the Philadelphia Phillies.
This will be a second straight absence for Escobar after he was lifted in the eighth inning on Tuesday with back tightness. He's considered day-to-day. Luis Valbuena will draw another start at third base for the Angels while batting fourth versus Phillies right-hander Jerad Eickhoff. Ben Revere is in the leadoff spot again.
numberFire's models project Escobar for a .287 batting average, with 2 home runs, 16 RBI, and 21 runs scored over 191 remaining plate appearances this season.
