Washington Nationals pitcher A.J. Cole has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.
Cole, 23, has made only three appearances this season at the major league level, but he was on a roll at Triple-A Syracuse and should be a nice addition to the Nationals' battered bullpen for the stretch.
Cole, a righty, owns a 2.92 FIP in 9 1/3 innings, which includes one start, with the Nationals this season. He started in 19 of his 21 appearances with Syracuse, posting a 3.91 FIP in 105 2/3 innings.
