San Francisco Giants utility player Kelby Tomlinson is starting against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.
Gorkys Hernandez is in center field and leading off while Denard Span gets a breather, so Tomlinson will start in left field and bat second versus Athletics southpaw Sean Manaea. Jae-Gyun Hwang is on the hot corner for San Francisco.
