Dustin Pedroia (knee) lands on Red Sox DL Tuesday
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) was placed on the 10-day DL, retroactive to July 29, on Tuesday.
Pedroia has been experiencing some inflammation in his left knee and will get an extended rest in hopes the problems goes away. Eduardo Nunez is expected to fill in at second base during the interim.
Due to the injury, Pedroia is projected for only 98 plate appearances, the rest of the season by our models. We see him hitting .306 and scoring 12 runs as well.
