Orioles place Mark Trumbo (rib cage) on 10-day DL
The Baltimore Orioles have placed Mark Trumbo on the 10-day disabled list with a right rib cage strain.
Trumbo was scratched from Sunday's start and will move to the DL, retroactive to July 30. While it's unclear how long he'll be out, Seth Smith, Joey Rickard and Trey Mancini should receive more starts in his place.
In 66 plate appearances, Trumbo has slashed just .148/ .212/.311 with 24 strikeouts in the second half. Upon his return, our models project him for 10 home runs, 30 RBI and .253 average over the rest of the season.
