The Houston Astros are trading outfielder Nori Aoki and a minor leaguer to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Francisco Liriano, per MLB.com's Brian McTaggart.
As the Astros add Liriano in a relief role, they'll give up the 35-year-old Aoki, which should make room for Derek Fisher to remain with the big league club. Aoki is under team control until next year.
In 2017, Aoki is slashing .272/.323/.371 with a .300 wOBA and 2 home runs on the year. For the remainder of the year, he will be a rotational player in the Blue Jays' outfield.
