Mitch Haniger (face) placed on the 10-day DL by Mariners
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (face) was placed on the 10-day DL on Sunday.
Haniger took a fastball to the face on Saturday and will require plastic surgery. Fortunately, there was no other damage, but the outfielder will be sidelined for at least two weeks. Leony Martin was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Haniger was hitting .255 with a .342 wOBA and 7 home runs in 247 plate appearances this season.
