Arizona places Robbie Ray on concussion DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed starting pitcher Robbie Ray on the 7-day concussion disabled list.

What It Means:

Ray was struck in the head by a line drive on Friday but has passed all initial tests including a CT scan. While that news is encouraging, Ray could still be sidelined for awhile as he deals with concussion symptoms.

Ray owns a 3.11 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while striking out 11.45 batters per 9 innings pitched this season. He is 9-5 through 20 starts (118 2/3 innings pitched).
