Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger left Saturday's game against the New York Mets with a mouth contusion.
Haniger was hit in the face by a 95-mph Jacob deGrom fastball in the second inning and was taken to the hospital for further tests. Guillermo Heredia took his spot on the basepaths and lineup.
Haniger has swatted 7 home runs and scored 36 runs while posting a .342 wOBA in 247 plate appearances this season.
