Logan Morrison has bruised heel, out of action for Rays on Friday
Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Logan Morrison is not starting against the New York Yankees on Friday night due to a bruised heel.
The injury occurred during Thursday's extra-inning loss, but Morrison is expected back sometime this weekend for Tampa Bay. New acquisition Lucas Duda is starting at first base and batting fourth tonight versus right-hander Masahiro Tanaka while Brad Miller handles DH duties and bats sixth.
Morrison is slashing .246/.360/.535 with 26 home runs (tied for ninth-most in the majors) and 62 RBI over 397 plate appearances (97 games) this season. numberFire's models project him to turn in 11 more taters and 33 RBI in 230 remaining plate appearances this year.
