Rays acquire another reliever, deal for Mariners' Steve Cishek
The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired reliever Steve Cishek from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for reliever Erasmo Ramirez.
Cishek, an impending free agent, will work in a setup role for Tampa Bay. The 31-year-old right-hander was sidelined to start the season due to offseason hip surgery, but he's been great, twirling a 3.15 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 18.8 strikeout percentage across 20 innings (23 appearances).
numberFire's models project Cishek to record a 3.46 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 20.8 strikeout percentage across 13 remaining innings this year.
