The Pittsburgh Pirates will reportedly promote outfield prospect Jordan Luplow from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The news seems to have leaked via the Fresno State Bulldogs' Twitter account, but the move makes a ton of sense at this point in time. Outfielder Gregory Polanco is on the disabled list with a nagging hamstring strain so this would allow them to bring him back slowly. Luplow could also steal some starts and at-bats from Adam Frazier.
After spending time at Double-A Altoona, Luplow has contributed 5 home runs and 13 RBI with a .439 wOBA in 82 plate appearances at Triple-A Indianapolis.
